Harry E., Tate, CPA is Managing Director in Hoskins & Company’s Chattanooga office. Harry joined the firm in May of 2011 after Harry E. Tate, CPA, PC, the firm he’d established in 1981, merged with Hoskins & Company. Prior to establishing his full-time accounting practice, he dedicated over 40 years to serving government at various levels. Harry has served the Federal government as a Top Secret/Crypto Accounting Clerk in the United States Army. He later served as an Accounting Manager for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Following his tenure at TVA, Harry served the City of Chattanooga in various capacities. He was a Management Analyst for the Chattanooga City Council; the Chief Financial Officer of the Chattanooga Housing Authority and eventually lending his expertise as acting Executive Director.
Harry was the first African-American to qualify to practice as a CPA in the City of Chattanooga. Harry’s specializations include performing financial audits and consulting nonprofits. He received his CPA designation in 1973.
